What is Save Rate?

Save rate is the number of users who save a piece of content divided by its reach. It is a stronger signal than a like, because the user is planning to come back to it. Platform algorithms treat saves as high-value engagement and tend to widen distribution. It rises noticeably on informational content.

Detail

Saved content has one thing in common: it is useful later. A size chart, a price comparison, a step-by-step walkthrough, a checklist. Sales-driven promotional posts are rarely saved. In e-commerce this metric matters for product discovery; saved product posts are a delayed indicator of purchase intent and produce a signal for retargeting. Raising the rate means deliberately building reference value into the content; a save reminder at the end only works if the content is genuinely worth keeping.

Formula

Save rate = Saves / Reach x 100

Example

A post that reached 9,000 people and was saved 270 times has a save rate of 3%; that figure is read against the same account's other posts.
