What is Cost Per Click (CPC)?

CPC is the average amount you pay for each click on your ad. Competition, quality score and audience breadth set it. It is neither good nor bad on its own: a cheap click that does not convert is worse than an expensive one that does.

Detail

In Google Ads, CPC falls as quality score rises — more relevant ad copy and a faster landing page cut cost directly. On Meta, the deciding pair is cost per thousand impressions (CPM) and click-through rate rather than CPC. In saturated markets like Istanbul, CPC runs markedly higher than in smaller provinces.

Formula

CPC = Total spend ÷ Number of clicks

Example

5,000 TL spend and 2,500 clicks → 2 TL CPC. At a 2% conversion rate that makes CPA 100 TL.
